Oh-shoot-I-have-a-Halloween-party-Saturday-and-nothing-to-wear last minute costume ideas.

You're hard-working, focused, and dedicated. It can be easy to forget things...

Like Halloween.

It's this weekend.

No worries, I'm here to make your life a helluvah lot easier. Here are some oh-shoot-I-have-a-Halloween-party-Saturday-and-nothing-to-wear last minute costume ideas.

  1. The Basic Black Cat

This is classic. Yes, we see it every year, but would it really be Halloween without a black cat? No. I didn't think so.

What ya need:

1. Cat ears - make 'em basic black or festive your choice!

2. Eyeliner to draw on your whiskers

Recommended: wearing all black adds to the overall cat vibe

2. The Pirate

This is a great costume sole because you get to walk around all night saying things like "AaRRRR" and "Ahoy Matey!"

What ya need:

1.A pirate hat - the bigger the better

2. An eye patch

Recommended: Adding a talking parrot always helps

3. The Ghost

It's a ghost. Not one person will ask you "Wait, what are you supposed to be?" I'd say that's a win

HB - Ghost 2

 What you need:

1. A white sheet (sans eye holes if you're feeling daring)

Recommended: Don't try going through any walls.

4.  Ken Bone, The Ken Bone

He's a gentleman and a scholar, what more can you ask for?

HB-Ken Bone

What you need:

1. Red Sweater

2. Glasses

3. A really sweet mustache

Recommended: Always have a question on hand, in case you bump into Hillary or Donald.

5. The Bat

Bats are creepy and weird. Perfect.

What ya need:

1. A pair of spooky wings

2. Fangs - to add a touch of the wicked side

Recommended: a black bathrobe, cuz why not?

6. The Mummy

Who's your Mummy?

What ya need:

1. Lots and lots of toilet paper

2. A friend to wrap you

Recommended: Watch out for extra on your shoes, don't want to send the wrong message

And remember, even if you can't get a costume, you can always be the one who shows up with the grub!

Mini Jimmy-cation: Salem, MA

It's Halloween. What better place to visit this time of year?!

Salem has it all...

1. Bewitched Statue:

This one of a kind statue depicts actress Elizabeth Montgomery holding a JJ's cookie and flying away with a 12 pack of Mini Jimmys. How cool is that?

JK...I put the JJ's stuff there. Anyway, you'll find this bad boy in Lappin Park on Essex St. You have to check it out!

2. The Hocus Pocus House:

When I say "The Hocus Pocus House", I mean the house where our good 'ol friend Max Dennison lived...the guy who lit the black flamed candle...who awoke the Sanderson Sisters...who was convinced

Yep. That guy. Check out his house!

3. The Salem Witch House:

This is the ONLY building left standing that has direct ties to the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. This can be a liiittle spooky; better bring some Mini Jimmys with you, you'll need the company!

Now get out there and show Salem you ain't scared of nothin'.

Oh and when you get hungry stop by the local JJ' can find it here:

135 Lafayette St. Salem, MA 01970

Mini Jimmy-cation: Buffalo, NY

Now, I know it isn’t New York City, but Fall is in full effect, and Buffalo is a top spot to visit this time of year!

Trust me, it’s worth it.

You'll probably want to take a walk through one of Buffalo's 20 city parks to enjoy the fall colors (are they making you hungry for BBQ chips?) BUT, if you need a break, check out the Buffalo History Museum!

and then get right back out to check out the trees (and our not-so-subtle product placement)

and of course, no trip to Western New York is complete without a stop at Niagara Falls. It's only a 25 minute drive from Buffalo, and you'll definitely want to grab a sub before you hit the road!

and don't forget to visit us at any of our Buffalo area locations!

Serve your employees and they will serve you

"My career at Jimmy John’s is my biggest accomplishment so far. I never really wanted to go to college, so I went to work after high school. I took administrative assistance jobs because they paid well, but it was boring work to me. I quickly realized that I needed to figure out how to support myself doing something I love. I love serving customers, teaching, and leading a team. Jimmy John’s has allowed me to do what I love. I take care of my team and in return they take care of the customers. I so admire and respect my team. Serve your employees and your employees will serve you. I really love it."

Mini Jimmy-cation: San Francisco

WOO, here we go! More travel advice from me to you. I’m sure you’re over there wondering, “Why on earth is Jimmy John’s giving me more travel advice?” Great question. Traveling is fun, people like fun…AND I wanna tell you where my sub shops are located without it seeming like I’m telling you where they’re located. Ya feel me?
Anyway back to San Fran, The City by the Bay, and the home of Danny Tanner. Who, by the way, supports you in your travels.
Here are just a few sweet spots to visit in San Francisco and the suburbs!

1. Golden Gate Bridge:
DUH. If you find yourself in San Francisco, you go see the Golden Gate Bridge. I shouldn’t even have to tell you that.
What was that? Where’s the closest Jimmy John’s? I’m glad you asked! I’ve got two shops in downtown San Fran, take your pick.
2. Diablo Foothills Regional Park:
Right near my Concord and Walnut Creek shops, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you’ll find this gem. Hit the foothills with your best friend, and by your best friend I mean me…
3. San Francisco Bay:
I understand that if you went to see the Golden Gate Bridge you probably saw the bay, but the view from right above Crissy Field is worth the walk over. Plus, I really wanted to say….Enjoy your lunch with bay. Soooooo, there.
Enjoy your lunch with bay!
P.S. You can find all of the San Francisco area shops at these locations:
1. 785 Oak Grove Rd. Concord, CA
2. 1110 Concord Ave. Concord, CA
3. 2914 N. Main St. Walnut Creek, CA
4. 137 Plaza Dr. Vallejo, CA
5. 159 Market Place San Ramon, CA
6. 4825 Hopyard Rd. Pleasanton, CA
7. 120 Pine St. San Francisco, CA
8. 50 Post St. San Francisco, CA

Hard work pays off!

Photo Sep 13

"I’ve learned discipline at Jimmy John’s. As a result, I’m doing things I never thought I’d be doing. One of the signs in our store says, ‘The only thing that separates successful people from the ones who aren’t is the willingness to work very, very hard.’ True that! When I first started, the sense of urgency stood out most to me. Jimmy says that when you make sandwiches faster it fixes a lot of problems. When you’re fast at slicing, fast at making sandwiches, fast at bread starting, it allows us to put the focus on our customers. Hard work pays off! Everyone wins!"

Mini Jimmy-cation: So-Cal

If you find yourself in Southern California for a few hours or a few days, here are some rockin’ places to visit. And guess what? They all have a Jimmy John’s nearby so you're never far from your sub fix. Ya didn’t think I was JUST giving you travel advice did you?

1. Newport Beach:

Right off PCH, Highway 1, California 1, State Route 1 or whatever name tickles your (dill) pickle, is the beautiful city of Newport Beach. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and enjoy the ocean breeze...

BONUS: no need to cut into your much needed tanning time, our Costa Mesa location delivers to a portion of the beach. Give ‘em a call: 949-646-2541!

2. Trabuco Canyon:

Before you head out for a morning hike to get that basic photo you’ll caption “#views”, stop by and grab a sammie at one of our Lake Forest locations!  (We're on your way to Trabuco Canyon, which by the way…#views.) It's about a 12 mile hike, so you'll need that fuel. 💪

3. Laguna Beach

Suuuuup Lauren, Kristin, Stephen and crew…wait, are you guys too young for that? (Update: Lauren is THE Lauren Conrad, Kristin married that dude from the Chicago Bears and Stephen is...M.I.A.)

Anyway, the sunset at Laguna Beach is a MUST SEE.

Now get out there, roam the U.S. and don't forget:

P.S.  you can find all my Southern California shops at these locations:
